Opening a Folder

Windows XP has some pretty cool visual effects; but unfortunately they come with a bit of a performance hit. Unless you have a PC with some punch you may not want to give up the resources for the eye candy.

To turn off these animations, do the following: * Click Start, and then right click My Computer and choose Properties from the context menu. * On the Advanced Tab, click the Performance button * On the resulting dialog, uncheck 'Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing.'
