Moving Folders
11 Apr 07
If you move folders with shortcut keys assigned to them and then find out that the shortcut keys no longer work, don't panic; but don't get your hopes up.
The problem is that shortcut keys won't work just anywhere. They work on desktop folders and programs, and on folders and programs in the Start menu. To keep your shortcut keys when moving folders from the desktop, run Windows Explorer and navigate to Documents and SettingsUser NameStart MenuProgramsStartup and create a new folder (call it HotKeys if you like). Right-click the desktop folder and choose Cut. Now right-click in your new folder and choose Paste.
Restart the computer--you'll find that your newly relocated shortcuts work just fine.
