avast! BART CD allows administrator to boot any Windows based workstation or server dead or alive. It works with SCSI and RAID disks - nonstandard drivers can be load from the manufacture's diskette. After boot from BART CD the user will get full access even to NTFS partitions.

After reboot the user can choose from these powerfull tools:

• Antivirus scanner and cleaner - award winning avast! antivirus (ICSA certified, Virus Bulletin VB 100% awarded) combined with advanced virus cleaner to remove most of the wide spread worms and viruses.
• Advance file manager based on popular Servant Salamander, combined with Network connection allows user to update fault device drivers, remove incompatible software, copy lost or destroyed system files etc. and makes dead server alive again
• The tool adminstrator will love is avast! Registry Editor. It gives you unlimited access to the Windows Registry files located on your hard disk (Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 only). The data in the registry can be both read and modified. Sometimes, this tool can be a life saver for you - many administrators certainly remember a day when changing a single value in registry would save them hours of work, just having the right tool to do that...
• Disk Checker is a powerful tool for searching and repairing disk errors. It is quite similar to the ScanDisk tool or chkdsk.exe, supplied with the Windows operating systems
• Even though the tools described previously are very powerful, sometimes it is necessary to dive deeply into the operating system itself. For such a case, BART CD contains a command-line interpreter, compatible with the standard command.com and cmd.exe
• To make the work with BART more comfortable, a simple viewer/editor of text file (Notepad-style) has been included. The tool can be useful e.g. to view the report-files generated by avast! antivirus, or to view/edit the .ini and .log files.
• All available programs are presented by a simple shell that makes it possible to start the program easily. In addition, it displays current state of the applications, license information, etc.

• You can check for new files, download and install updates by simple clicking on the Update ISO icon in the avast! BART CD Manager.
• The antivirus update files of size under 100 KB are available at least twice a week and within couple of hours in the case of emergency of new virus.
• Program upgrades are available to incorporate new features time to time, they are incremental too (about 300 KB)
• The first year of updates and program upgrades are free, following years will be available for about 20% of the price.

• Connection to Internet - for download of the program and it's update/upgrade
• CDRW drive - we recommend to use CDRW media for periodical update/upgrade
• CD Burning software - it should be able to burn ISO image

• CD drive with enabled booting from CD
• Any Microsoft Windows OS installed - BART CD is compatible with Windows 95/98/Me, Windows NT/2000/XP and Windows NT/2000/2003 server
• 64 MB of RAM

• Administrator license which allows the avast! BART CD to be used by a single person on the computers solely owned by the company owning the license, provided that the BART CD is not used concurrently on more than one computer
• Serviceman license - which allows the avast! BART CD to be used by a single person on any computer, provided that the BART CD is not used concurrently on more than one computer.
