I cannot access the yahoo web page or the games will not load. What could
possibly be wrong? Could it be the microsoft authentication code or another
operating system issue?

Some software, like a firewall might be preventing access. I would
suspect NIS first, if you have it.. Also look in your HOSTS file for a
line mentioning Yahoo and remove it.
