Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>hardware_devices (more info?)

i understand that for windows vista-i have windows vista basic edition on my
inspirion 1501 dell laptop, the wave out mix has been hidden by microsoft.
and i understand there is a way of trying to enable wave out recording for
windows vista. unfortunantly the method does not work for me and I think it
is because of my sound card. now how could i work around this problem. do i
need to download an updated version of my sound card? I have sigmatel high
definition audio codec as my sound card.
