Old version of Windows XP

I am trying to reload Windows XP. When I put my CD dick in it till me the
version I have loaded is newer then what I am trying to load. I no there is a
way around this however I don't remember what it is.

You get that message because you're using a pre-SP2 XP CD and trying
to update an SP2 version (which is newer).

But if you're trying to reinstall XP, it doesn't matter, because
you're doing it wrong. When you install cleanly, it doesn't matter
what version is on the drive (or whether any version is on the drive).
To do a clean installation correctly, just boot from the Windows XP CD
(change the BIOS boot order if necessary to accomplish this) and
follow the prompts for a clean installation (delete the existing
partition by pressing "D" when prompted, then create a new one).

After installation, you'll need to upgrade to SP2 and then install the
post-SP2 updates.
