Installed the most recent XP critical updates from Microsoft this morning.
Since then almost everything I do causes the A: (floppy) drive to be
accessed. Any ideas?

Uninstall the updates from Add or Remove Programs control panel, reboot and
see if it still happens.

Install the updates manually - one-by-one - and reboot between. If it
starts happening again - you know which update you need help with. Come
back and let us know.
