Using MS Update all other updates install and run fine but I keep having a
problem with defender updates. The previous one installed after about a week
and several attempts. The latest is still failing after five attempts. The
definition is KB915597 and the error code 80070714.

Running Vista Premium - no other problems.

Please confirm your system clock and Time Zone also the Date set properly,
Having it set incorrectly can cause this type of behavior.

Use the belt-and-suspenders mode. Make a Restore Point.

You can try the resolution given in this page

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/934562/en-us

disregard the error number.

I hope this post is helpful.

Let us know how it works Âșut.
