I use Windows XP home version. Suddenly I have 100's of files in my Window's
Folder starting with a "$NtUninstallBk....". What are these files and can I
safely delete them?

These files are uninstall files. These are files that the system uses so you
have the ability to uninstall a program when you no longer want it or you
need to uninstall the program to reload it if the program becomes corrupt.
Leave these files alone. The more programs you install over time the more of
these you will see. These are ok to have on your machine.

These are the uninstall files for various Microsoft updates, If you are
happy with the way your machine is running then you can safely delete them,
but bear in mind that if you do so you will be unable to remove those
updates if something goes wrong.

If you do decide to delete them then once you have done so you may like to
go to the "Add & Remove Software" control panels and delete the entries from
there, if the update has been deleted you will be given the option of
deleting that entry, delete ONLY those entries that give a message that the
file cannot be found (or words to that effect). Do NOT delete the $hf_mig
file other wise you will be unable to remove the entries in the afore
mentioned Control Panel.

Assuming they are actually ...KB... rather than Bk, they contain information
about removing an update. You can remove the ones with KB followed by 6
numbers if you're sure you won't want to remove the update. At the same
time remove the related KB######.log file.
