I have a new ThinkPad with Vista Business.

My problem is that every time when I use "switch user", after logging into
the 2nd user, the system pretty much will be down - it will be so slow
(virtually no response to any mouse click or key press) that I have to "hard"
power off the system - I have a system with C2D CPU + 2GB memory + discrete
video card.

Could it be that I simply need 4GB memory?

Could you delete the second (slow) user account and reinstall it?

There is a chance the account has not been set up properly especially if the
problem existed since day one.

I do not think it will be a memory issue if you have 2GB and no big apps
running.

Have you got all the ThinkVantage stuff updated?

I have a feeling it might be something like the Trackpad software or
something like that. If you want to investigate this, you can temporarily
disable all the ThinkVantage stuff in both accounts, using AutoRuns. See if
that makes a difference, and then you will have narrowed it down.

It's best to ask other ThinkPad users that use Vista (I use XP on mine).
