I try to use SSL VPN to my office network from home with my laptop.
When log in, after enter user name and
password, it asks to install "XTunnel.cab" which is the same as on
other compters, when I choose to install, the pop-up window, asking
you to "stop installation" or "continue anyway", showed up for just a
fraction of seconds, I have no time the choose "contiue anyway", then
disappeared. then an error message says " Error A. A connection to the
remote computer could not be established.....". I tried IE7.0 and
mozalla firefox, I disabled firewall, cleaned the cookies, put the IP
of the router as trusted site, nothing helps. Using other computers
can easily log in.
I think it is the windows XP setup problem.
I appreciate it if someone can help me. |

There is a possibility, if you are using a cable provider, that the provider
is disabling VPN.

Impossible. I cannot login the VPN with my laptop at home, but can
login with my desktop at home. I am using DSL at home.
Thanks. |

Richie,
Do you know if your VPN is an SSL VPN or IPsec VPN? Often times ISPs
block the ports required for IPsec VPNs because they are often used
for business and the telcos know they can charge more for the
"privilege". One solution is to recommend to your IT department to
install an SSL VPN, which bypasses ISP IPsec filters. One I'd
recommend is NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus http://www.neoaccel.com

Matt,
I am using Linksys RVL200 Router. It has both SSL and IPsec VPN. Since
other computers can access the VPN, I think there are configuration
problems on my laptop.
The NeoAccel's SSL VPN is a software, do you mean if I install it on
my laptop, the problem could be solved?
Thanks a lot.
