Sound is Echoing - I recently had my computer in the shop and they it. When I got it back it was fine but one problem. All the sound I play comes out with this weird echo or muffled sound. I am not an expert at I have read one post like this..

hi, i had an unexpected crash on my pc which resulted in a loss of sound.
when i tried to play a music file i get the message " there is a problem with
your sound device or no sound device detected" i have been to windows
update for drivers but none available. i have nothing in sound devices in
device manager and yellow question marks next to audio and videeo
controllers. i have also installed drivers from my emachines. i ran belarc
but not sure what motherboard i have and there is nothing listed under
multimedia. i have an emachines e4036, hope someone can help!

You lost the sound device. It is either broken, or has become disconnected
somehow. You might buy a sound card, but a new e-machine is not much more
expensive than that.
