If you get an error message, please post it here.
What type of account is it? Comcast, AOL, Gmail, etc.
Windows Mail can only access POP & IMAP accounts, not webmail accounts, like
Hotmail.

To use yahoo.com accounts under Windows Mail, you have to either pay
extra or install YPOPs.

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-08.html

Whether this also applies to Yahoo accounts for other counties depends
on the country.

That's probably because you have one of the free Yahoo email accounts, and
therefore don't have access to the POP servers. To get access, upgrade to
the Yahoo Plus! account.
