Just got a new gateway computer and I am trying to set up windows mail to get
my yahoo mail and I can send e-mail but everytime I retrieve i get the same
error message...Message number 1 could not be retrieved. Account:
'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Server: 'localhost', Protocol: POP3, Server Response:
'-ERR message 1 could not be downloaded', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD. I have windows live care one
security system if that matters. Please help this is killing me.

I do have localhost in the ingoing and oiutgoing server and YPOPS downloaded.
I have tried disbaling spyware and firewalls also.

Apparently that "localhost" thing is used with YPOPs.
We can't provide support for what may well be a YPOPs problem.
One thing you might try, go to http://mail.yahoo.com and log in to
your webmail. Delete the oldest message. It may be corrupted,
thereby preventing the newer messages from being downloaded.

If you didn't enter 'localhost' as the POP server name, then I would suspect
Onecare.
I'm not familiar with it, but I'd try turning off the AV email check and
spyware check.

I saw something about YPOPS being a violation of Yahoo's TOS. Maybe that's
the problem.

ok i uninstalled YPOPS and put in the server information yahoo says to put in
and still get all the same errors.
