| Hello:
|
| I have an OEM version of WindowsXP and I am the only user of my
| computer. I never FORMALY set up user accounts, although I am aware
| that XP automatically sets up an administrator/owner account at
| install.
|
| When I started windows in the past---until a day or so ago, I get the
| welcome screen and then the system boots automatically to the GUI---no
| log in! I like it this way.
|
| The other day, I installed several XP updates to the computer, and now
| at the welcome screen---I see my administrator account and must click
| on it to get to the GUI. Now I know that this is part of WIN XP
| security but I prefer to go automaticllay to the welcome screen. I
| really do not want to use system restore to remove the updates---one
| of them must have made a setting change to cause this!
|
| Does anyone know how to turn this back on; that is---how to go
| directly to the GUI w/o the log-in?
