Did a re-install of XP. Now our scanner won't work. We never installed
software that came with the scanner and it worked fine with other software.
Any suggestions? The manufacturer (Umax Astra 2000U) doesn't have any up to
date drivers unless you purchase and then they don't guarantee that they
will work!!

thanks
JT

That is right. The drivers for that are obsolete. You had it working in XP
before? You say you had other software to make it work? You don't recall
what that other software was?

You can't have 'Googled' for the drivers. Suggest you 'Google' and you will
find there are many sites from which ypou can download the drivers required.

No the software doesn't install the Twain drivers (I think) the scanner just
worked with other software - was recognized by XP.

Did the "Google" thing without success - even joined the "Drivers" site
which supposedly had working drivers for XP - nothing works.

The fact that the scanner was recognized before in XP and isn't now has me
stumped.
