Hi,

XP Home SP2 All Updates

I have a program call DeskPins. (A small free program that allows me to put
pin a window to the top of other windows - quite handy)

When Starting computer, I get and error pop up saying "DeskPins is already
running" (a small rectangular box in middle of screen)

It looks like a standard windows error indicating that the program is
already loaded and the same program is trying to start again.

I uninstalled deskpins and remove all instances from the registry.

Then I reinstalled.

Still the same problem.

Is there another location I should look for a startup program.

In msconfig it is in startup and common startup (which looks normal - other
programs are setup the same way)

DeskPins works fine and I have it on another computer without any problems.

Thanks, Duane

Deskpin could have placed a "shortcut: into the "Startup" folder in
yout user(s) account or the AllUsers one.

Click on Start then All Programs. Navigate to the Startup folder and check
if there is an entry there for Deskpins, if there is delete it

I had already tried that, but I tried it again.

I deleted it from the startup folder. It did not start at all on startup. I
could still start it manually. I reinstalled a shortcut in the startup folder
and it started when windows started, but still had the error pop up saying it
was already running.

I checked for it in other startup folders, but there are none.
