Post subject: How to recover my Power Schemes
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>customize (more info?)

They have all disappeared and all the timings normally accessible in
"Plugged in" or "Running on batteries" is not anymore available (everything
is grey). My computer screen shuts off automatically if not used for a
while and I have no command on the matter anymore. I am running Windows XP
Pro.

I tried the fix given by Anando in another posting in this Newsgroup:
[Download and run this edit: Restore power schemes (line 204, right column)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm]
But my power schemes are still missing after running this edit and rebooting
my computer.

Thank you for your help.

Hi there,

Try this fix I found. It basically resets all the power
schemes back to what they were originally.

Hope this helps,

Nick

Thank you so much for this. I restored my computer following the
instructions found in this page and recovered all my power schemes.
Most grateful.
