Looking for a quiet USB optical mouse that has silent switches.

We work about 3 feet apart in a quiet room with the backs of our
monitors facing each other.

My mouse makes an annoying 'click' when I press the buttons.

Can you recommend a really quiet mouse?

Sure. People is a purely HARDWARE group could help. Your problem has
nothing to do with the mouse and it's interaction with the XP OS.

Ask elsewhere

Ignore the ill-bred little troll who replied to your post; he's apparently
been off his meds for a while.

You could try a touchpad instead of a mouse.
I don't know of any "clickless" mice, but you might google or see what you
can find/try out in various computer shops.

Or invest in a nicer stereo system or turn a fan on or move to midtown
Manhattan and you won't hear the annoying clicking anymore. Wink

Hi:

I was puzzled about your question and I found one reference. Maybe you can
check later on forums about it:
