I have Outlook 2002 on XP and saved my contacts to a .csv file. When I
imported it into OE on Vista, most of the email addresses would not import
with the following error message: contact has a non-Internet e-mail address.
What does this mean? How can I fix it? I have over 500 contacts that I
need to import and I don't want to manually enter the email addresses if I
don't have to. Thanks.

Outlook Express won't run under Vista. Its replacement is named Windows
Mail.

You have two choices: 1. Install Outlook, preferably version 2003 or
later,
under Vista. Version 2002 also runs under Vista, but with a few problems.
Windows Mail needs part of it to be able to handle files from Outlook.
A free trial version, if you can find one, will run more than long enough
to assist in the transfer. 2. Transfer the contacts from Outlook to
Outlook
Express on your old computer. Then transfer at least the .wab file to a
directory on your new computer, along with other files if you also want the
messages.

After you transfer the files to your new computer, but before you import
them into Windows Mail, make sure the copies are read-write instead
of readonly.

Sorry -- it is Windows Mail not OE. My mistake.

I don't know what it means, but if you have Excel, open the .csv file and
take a look at how the email addresses look.
You may have to edit them.
If you don't have Excel, open it with Notepad.

OK, I did and they were duplicated along with SMTP seperating the duplicates.
I deleted the SMTP as well as the second email and am going to retry. Just
wonder if the hyperlink on the email will pose a problem?
