Where did my printer go??

I operate a COMPAQ Presario laptop with a Lexmark X4270 All-in-One. Two days
ago I was printing with no difficulties. Today, 5/23/07, I cannot print.
When I go to the Control Panel to access 'printers/faxes', I get no response.
If I click on the print icon in the MS Word 2003 program it says "no
printer."

What has happened? All cables, etc are properly connected. Printer lights
come on when I turn on the machine. I'm stumped. Please help. My e-mail
