plz help im a noob

I uninstalled a program , but i left the short cut in my desktop.
now I'm unable to delete the short cut.

"This is not longer located in C:\Users\Public\Public Destop. Verify the
item location and try again"

this sign keeps coming up and im unable to delete it

You could try
Right click the desktop > Refresh
