Post subject: installing games in seperate partition
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>games (more info?)

Not sure I even know exactly how to ask this, but I'll do my best. I've
installed Vista Ultimate 64 (new volume c) on an additional hard drive.
I want to install games on a seperate partition on this hd. I was unable
to install the first game I tried (Eq2) I got the error that I need to
select a valid directory. I posted on the eq2 forums and was told that I
needed a fully qualifed directory. The partition is new volume e. I just
had to type e:\games\eq2. That worked fine and the game installed. I
have some other games to install, and I am wondering if there is some
generic command I need to type in for other games. I had installed
Hellgate London in e without error messages, but I noticed later that it
didn't show up in my list of programs, or in the remove programs through
the control panel. I had completely reinstalled Vista on the first
partition (new volume c) after hellgate was installed so maybe that
caused it not to show up. After I reinstalled Vista I formatted e, and
started over so I just have eq2 on e now. Hope I made at least a little
sense, being the amateur I am. Thanks

64 or 32 bit for Games? - What is the general concensus on this? I am building a new machine and games are the thing on it. 64 bit is rstrictive when it comes to drivers. 32 bit is supported more easily. 64 bit for the future or better support now? Thinking of an OEM version..
