http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889320/en-us makes a reference to a hotfix
which I have tried in vain to get from MS.
I was wondering if anyone ever received it?
I was wondering if anyone ever applied it?
I was wondering if anyone could prove that it actually exists?

Follow the link at the top left corner of the article. That takes you to
the EULA. After agreeing to the EULA you are shown instructions for
obtaining the hotfix.

Note: This hotfix is included in service pack 3. If you have SP 3 - you
should - you have the hotfix.

Hi,

I'm reluctant to apply SP3 as I've seen it trash more systems than it fixed.

Feel free to continue this thread here:

You've been looking at systems from doofusses who don't know how to
install software.
