I have entered all of the information correctly for Yahoo Pop3 email service
however, I continue to get the same error message
The host 'pop2.mail.yahoo.com' could not be found. Please verify that you
have entered the server name correctly.
Account: 'pop2.mail.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop2.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number:
0x800CCC0D
What is the problem? How do I get it to recognize the server?? |

Do you have a free or a premium Yahoo account?
US-based free Yahoo accounts don't have POP access.
Assuming you have a premium account, the server name is wrong.
Correct settings are here:

Am not sure if pop2.mail.yahoo.com is the right address, I use Yahoo from the
UK and it does not have a number, it just goes pop.mail.yahoo and it works
perfectly, on the other hand be sure that the SSL box is cheked and that the
Port number is right, all details are included in the Yahoo help section.
As for free POP access, am not sure about Yahoo US, but Yahoo UK does give
you free POP access with no need of any sort of payment or membership
whatsoever.
Hope this helps and good luck!

An email provider would want you to connect to his closest server. So I
would suspect the setup parameters and service offerings would be different
in the UK compared to the US.
