Hi all,
I am trying to upgrade my system and run some diagnostics of my memory.
Both the BIOS upgrade and the memtest software needs to create bootable
floppy diskette and/or bootable CD.
They provided image file with suffix : "*.ima",
However I don't have a floppy diskette and I don't have a CD burner.
I have a SanDisk Audio player/recorder which is also a 1GB USB drive.
Also a lot times I have to boot from non-harddisk to check systems.
So how can I burn the floppy disk image and bootable CD image into my
flash/usb drive stick so that it is bootable?
I've already made sure the my BIOS allows booting from USB drive.
Thanks a lot! |

Sorry, the bootable CD image for the BIOS upgrade is a "ISO" file, and it
includes a "ima" file...

Try extracting the ISO to a usable form with IsoBuster or similar then copy
the extracted files to the flash drive.
I believe WinRar can extract ISO's also.

Yes, I've used WinRAR. After extract, I got a "ima" and a few other files,
as I've reported before.
But copying these a few files along with the "ima" file will make USB drive
bootable?
I don't think so. I believe I need more steps to make the USB drive
bootable.
I think this "ima" file is an image file and should be burned to the USB
drive in some way...
