I cannot get Remote Desktop to run on my sister's
computer; she has WinXP Pro and recently had DSL
installed. When we try to run Remote Desktop and connect
to an IP & Domain, she gets an error stating that the
network is preventing her from accessing. It's like it
doesn't even try to "go outside" her computer before she
gets this error. I keep reading about enabling Port 3389
in this newsgroup, but not how to do it. Do you think
this is her problem? Our business depends on this &
THANKS IN ADVANCE,

No the fire wall is not enabled; I did find out that she's
running XP HOME; does this affect Remote Desktop?

Yes. Remote Desktop is not available in XP Home.

There is a terminal-services based feature that you might be able to use,
however. Remote Assistance IS available on XP Home. It's
interactive--requires users on both ends and XP on both ends. Read up on it
in Help and Support.
