Post subject: No display after full screen command prompt exit
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

If I open a dos window (command prompt) and go full screen by pressing
alt-enter and then exit by typing 'exit'/enter, my display goes blank. The
same think happens if I press alt-enter a second time. After this I can
toggle using alt-enter between a full screen dos window and a blank display.
The keyboard seems to be fully functional. Knowing the keystrokes, I can
shutdown or restart windows, but I cannot seem to restore my desktop without
doing so. Also if I let the screen saver activate I seem to be in a
permanent blank screen. Any suggestions. Thank you.
