Post subject: "disconnected network hardware" screen when running "Network Setup Wizard"
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general, others (more info?)

I have just installed a second copy of Windows XP on my system. When I run
the "Netwok Setup Wizard" on the system I get a screen entitled "The wizard
found disconnected network hardware". The screen says "The network
connections listed below are disconnected. Plug in your network cables ..
da, da, da.." Listed is one of the several connections defined in the
"Network Connections" icon in the control panel. Both "Internet Explorer"
and "Outlook Express" are operating flawlessly in both installations.

I want to share files between two computers, and am having trouble doing so.
The other computer displays the "disconnected network connections" screen
when running the "Network Setup Wizard". Can the disconnected network
connections screen have anything to do with my inability to share files?
How do I handle it?

Don J

Hi
Try to configure the Network manually.
The following is a way to check the Network configuration, while doing it
you can manually adjust the settings to be as they should.
