I want to define a key(s) to change from single monitor to..

I am looking for a way to change the display properties
of my desktop with a key (or keys) such that I change
change from a single monitor display to a dual monitor
display and back again whenever I need to.
I take my laptop to meetings many times during the day,
and I want a quick way to change desktops on the fly. It
would be really wonderful to set up a key to do that.
Just wondering how.

Most laptops already have such a key (that toggles between LCD, external
monitor, and LCD+external monitor). It's usually a key combination involving
the Fn key. Check with your laptop manufacturer.
