Ok, so I have been having this problem with system restore erasing all of the
restore points on every boot up. With the help of some people on here, I
found the error that boldly states, "yep, I erased the restore points," and
they are as follows:

The first:
Volsnap event id 25:

The shadow copies of volume C: were deleted because the shadow copy storage
could not grow in time. Consider reducing the IO load on the system or
choose a shadow copy storage volume that is not being shadow copied.

And the second:
Volsnap event id 27:

The shadow copies of volume C: were aborted during detection because a
critical control file could not be opened.

How do I fix these errors? I have found KB articles for windows server
2003, but the registry modification that they suggedted doesn't work for me.

1. Are you running a dual-boot with XP? If yes, this is a known issue
that XP erases Vista's Restore Points. Using a third-party boot manager
is the workaround.

2. If you aren't dual-booting, are you running a Norton product? If yes,
this is a known issue. See this link:
