It is impossible to customize a folder congaining graphics
to permit slide shows unless the folder is My Pictures or
a subfolder thereof. When a zip of USB memory is mounted,
I am immediately asked it I want to customize it for
pictures. If yes, the whose drive is available for slide
shows. If not, customizing for pictures is no longer
available. All this is contrary to the XP help system.
What am I doing wrong?

Well I just right-click on the folder, goto the customise tab, and select a
type in the 'What kind of folder do you want'. Making it a 'Photo Album' or
'Pictures' folder gives you extra view options. Hope this helps!
