Make sure there is a full and complete backup of important data. Normally
the conversion occurs without problems but there is always a chance of
trouble when messing with the file system. Of course you should always have
a full and complete backup at all times.

See this link for info on doing the conversion.

Converting Fat32 to NTFS:

Also note there is always some risk, so make a backup if at all possible.

As you said you want to convert your C Drive from FAT32 to NTFS then command
should be like this:

Convert [Drive Letter:] /fs:ntfs

E.g.

Convert C: /fs:ntfs

Doesn't matter where you are at command prompt either at the root [C:\] or
in a folder. Command can be executed from any where. Must take backup before
proceding. Some time the conversion may take place on next restart. You may
also have sufficient disk space available for conversion.

Hope this help, let us know!

He will still be asked for a volume label. If he had read the
information offered by other posters, in particular the information on
the Auhma site, he would know what to do.

First of all, you are NOT converting the files to NTFS, you are converting
the drive/partition to NTFS. The program convert.exe is capable of doing
the conversion, but there is always a possibility of losing data. Thus you
should copy any critical data to another drive/partition or write them to
CD/DVD as a precaution. You can then copy the copied files to you NTFS
drive/partition if there is a problem.
