I have a client who uses Remote Connection to connect to a server via the
web. On his new WinXp Home desktop (client) when he tries to connect an
error message pops up that it is unable to make the connection. We can
connect using the same internet connection via his LAN (DSL) using another
WinXP home system and a Windows 98se laptop system with terminal services
installed. The Ip address for this connection ends in :7200. I have
rebuilt TCP (netsh), R&R'd the NIC and tried replacing the NIC to no avail.
Internet and LAN access is fine as is e-mail access.

Does he have the XP firewall client (ICF) enabled? Any other firewall
software? Can he ping the server?

No ICF or other firewall software. Can ping IP but not port. Port 7200
seems closed for some reason.

You can possibly ping with a firewall somewhere along the line...
Most will still respond to Ping request unless it is otherwise turned
off...

There is no firewall running. No ZoneAlarm, MS ICF. Other systems on the
LAN connect fine. It is just this one WinXP system that cannot.
