How can I learn more about certificates?

for now, I'd like to know:

1. do I have the right ones or fake ones or dangerous ones?
2. where are they stored, and when is it appropriate to export or import a
certificate?
3. why would I be getting messages that my browser is trying to contact
"blank" which doesn't have a valid certificate?

Thank you.

I suggest you start by reading an introductory chapter such as :
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/ie/reskit/6/part2/c06ie6r...spx?mfr .
There may also be some pertinent entries elsewhere on the MS website or even
in wikipedia.
