add or remove programs is very slow

Hi

I have been having trouble using the add or remove programs button in the
control panel.

Every time I try to open it up, it takes nearly 2 minutes for it to present
a populated list of programs on my pc. Not a huge problem, its just
annoying.

Does anyone have any advise

I have seen systems take quite a while to populate add/remove. Do you keep
your disk defragmented?
