I read the post on doing a XP SP2 slipstream into a XP SP1 using autostreamer
but I don't know which file on my comp. is a SP2 file and can't use my search
in start because when I click on it it freezes the taskbar and everything by
clock can click and open everthing else in start menu and desktop and email
icon at top shows error message so I need to know what is the name of the
file so I can do a repair on XP Home Edition. Can anyone help me??

hey Ken
I typed that in the service pack file line on the autostreamer and it still
shows a red cross and a error message - you haven't selected a valid service
pack file,if you want to skip this and just create a cd image click yes
otherwise click no to return to specify a valid service pack file. Why is
this showing up?

Do you have that file on your drive? Did you provide the correct path to
where it is?

went to my guest log in and went to search (its the only way it works) and
typed in WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENG.exe also SP2 and KB835935 in Windows and
that file didn't show up but a lot of things show up with SP2 so what
should I do? Do I need to reinstall the SP2 file and where can I find the
download. I do see the WINDOWS SP2 service pack in the add and remove list.

The entry in Add and Remove Programs is not the service pack itself but the
way to uninstall SP2. You need to redownload the full service pack. You can
do it from here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=049c9dbe-3b8e...30-8245

If you need more info on using Autostreamer you can find it here
