HELP! i got a pop up from DXDLL saying something about a malicious intrusion
and then everything went pear-shaped from there! i was able to remove the
virus but now all XP faulty. im unable to restore, enter safe mode(pressing
F8 at start up just gives me a boot sequence), cut/copy and paste, enter the
internet (im using another computer to do this), etc. will i need to repair -
the xp is an oem and i dont have the disk, but i do have other xp disks? how
do i backup/restore program files without licenced disks for eg microsoft
office? is there a way of entering safemode via START and RUN to run system
restore (not allowing me to access system restore via START and RUN)? or is
there a program (that i dont have to pay for because im ineligible for credit
and im not falling into that trap anyways!) is it a registry problem? if it
is will i need to do a system restore? and how do i fix the registry?

all assistance greatly appreciated!

To get to Safe Mode, try pressing F5 during startup instead of F8. Or,
after F8, select the drive you want to open from, then press F8 again.

You may still be infected.. try installing and running these free
programs.. download to another machine and copy to a thumbdrive or other
media and use on the infected machine:

Malwarebytes© Corporation
