Post subject: All my Word files are now Wordpad files... Help!
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support (more info?)

Out of the blue, all my Microsoft Word files now have a Wordpad icon on them,
and all the Word formatting is gone. When I save a Word file, it saves it as
a Wordpad file... What is going on??? Any ideas out there?

Right click a word file > Open with > Choose program..
Select "Microsoft Word" from the list or browse to winword.exe file
Tick "Always use the selected program .." and click OK
