I have a desktop that is wired directly to a linksys router. I have 2
XP laptops. Using one, I can search computers and find the share on my
desktop...using the other it can not find the desktop at all...any
advice?
Thanks

Make sure you are looking at MS Networks>entire network. Sometimes when you
install a network, it will set it to MS Home or such as the workgroup, other
versions set the workgroup name to Workgroup.
Unless you have the name the same, it's a little harder to find the other
machine.

Does it have the correct Workgroup name?

I have exactly same issue, really annoying, two of the PC's work fine and see
each other, but the laptop finds nothing... all have same workgroup name, and
all have Firewall turned off (the router does this).

Interested to know if you find the answer!
