I can't seem to find Newsgroups for Windows 7, so I'm hoping to find
an answer for my question here!
I've installed Win7 on my laptop and want to customize the Start
Menu's All Programs windows. I normally consolidate like
programs/folders into one common folder to minimize the number of
items on the All Program window (i.e. all Microsoft related items in
one folder called something like Microsoft Programs). I can't seem to
figure out how to do that in Windows 7.
Any thoughts/pointers are appreciated.
Thanks

| What you need to do is left click on the start button and right click on the
"All programs" bar and left click on open all users.
That will take you to explorer and the directory where start menu programs
are arranged. You can create new folders, consolidate, etc. However unless
you turn it off the UAC is just as annoying and useless as it was/is in
Vista.

You have a lot more freedom on how your start menu looks. Empty at first and
you add stuff. But take a look here:
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windows7
and another good one here
http://www.sevenforums.com/

What about the All Programs windows on the Start Menu? How do you
consolidate folders/programs on there into one folder? |

Do you have reading comprehension issues? The op said they can't find a
NEWSGROUP and you point them to a FORUM! Those are NOT the same thing.
The only newsgroup known for Windows 7 so far is not on the MS servers
(and probably never will be). That newsgroup would be
alt.windows7.general and only found on certain newsservers. Right now
I'm seeing it through nntp.aioe.org |

I think Gordon is sitting on the sharp edge of his NET COP badge. |

What I'd like is for the "All Programs" list of folders and programs to
be already expanded when I left-click the Start button. Does anyone know
how to do this?
