Post subject: Windows Explorer Search Function Crash
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support (more info?)

Every time I use windows explorer search function, searching keywords inside
documents, it crashes in the same location within a shared network drive.
This is the error log entries i have repeatedly gotten:

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module
ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0002ae22.

this is followed up by:

Fault bucket 127605721

I have tried everything short of a system restore, which is something i
cannot do without authorization from my higher ups because it will screw up
my ID for our lan system. This search feature is very useful to me, but such
a request will cause time and trouble for a bunch of people.

Also, i have uninstalled and reinstalled SP2, thinking that it might be the
problem, but that did not fix it. i also deleted an xp security update, but
cant remember the number. someone said it might help in some forum or
another. but it didnt.

Thanks
Peter
