Post subject: Windows Explorer and Media player query
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>basics (more info?)

I have two things I would like info on.

1. The directory tree in the left pane of explorer only shows the drives
list when I click 'My Computer'. If I close explorer and then reopen it the
drives are no longer displayed and I have to click MC again to display them.
Is there a way that I can keep the drive list open all the time ?

2. Can someone tell me how and where Media Player 10 stores the song list
file, and how I can delete it and start again with an empty list?

Many thanks

Steve

Hello.

About question 1
This is by default. If you have left My Computer to a state OPEN (I mean it
is set to minus - ) ,the dirve list will always be opened.

About question 2
Windows Media Player stores the play list (you call it song list) by default
in folder
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\My Music\My playlists

USER means your user name which you now you.

But these is an easy and integrated way to delete playlists and do another
new.
Open Windows Media Player 10 -> click Library ->

on the left pane you'll see tree similar to that in Windows Explorer->
Choose My palylist and right click on the wanted one
Now you'll have option for erase.

Smile
