| Anyone know of methods / applications available for modifying how Explorer
presents itself. Specifically, I'd like to get some control over where
Explorer starts.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for your help. Registry hacks for something as trivial as this seems
a bit extreme. Think I'll leave it, but to repeat thanks for your help.

Ricks solution isn't really that extreme. I am sure there are many system
variables you can use in the Taget Box to do many different things.
But anyways, I must be missing something because if I want explorer to open
anywhere else besides "(My)Computer" I just drag the folder I want to my
desktop or anyplace else I desire.
If you don't want both you can always turn off the "Computer" Icon in
Display Properties then just rename and change the Icon of the newly
created shortcut (if so desired)

Hi rayc,
There is no registry hack involved. Microsoft article 221878 posted by Rick instructs how to modify the shortcut properties to change the default view of Windows Explorer. There you can modify the target path as well.
