Hello Ian,
I'm sorry, it seems I failed to post back in Newsgroup yesterday.
Therefore, I send my reply to you again now.
Thank you for your assistance and time.
The traces are clearer this time and the delay could be monitored in
the traces. It seems the connection between client and server was hung for
a short period of time.
I have done some more research for several hours. Please do the following
tests for further investigation.
1. On the XP machine where IE 7.0 is installed, please do the below steps:
a. Open C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer folder
b. Right click iexplorer.exe and click Create Shortcut
c. Right click the shortcut and click Properties
d. In Target option, configure as follows "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff
e. Click OK to save the change.
f. Double click the shortcut to run IE without add-ons
g. Access the Share Point server and check whether the delay still exists.
2. Please try to install a third-party Internet browser on the same XP
machine and try to access the Share Point server and check whether there
will be any improvement.
3. Please create a new user account and login on the same XP machine, after
that please do the above two tests and check whether the issue still occurs.
Moreover, I have several questions:
1. Do you experience a delay when you open the IIS Server's web page ?
2. Does the delay always occur when you open any folds and copy any files
on Web server ?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Neo Zhu,
