With network diagnostic tool , it indicates I have an Internet explorer web
proxy server and am in a web client network.......All to my great surprise.
I tried to delete Internet explorer 7 (said I haven't used it since December,
I use it daily) and wouldn't delete it. Have I been Hijacked, or do I need
to take a chill pill.

Did it say you haven't used IE for a year of that you hadn't used a
particular IE shortcut?

How do you connect? My satellite software likes to (insists upon) install
its proxy for IE on startup.
