I cant seem to get DVDs to play in windows media player since I installed
windows xp 64 when I try it just says

Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is
not installed on your computer.

Anyone have any idea on what to do?

Install a DVD Decoder.... usually it's WinDVD or PowerDVD.
