Hey peoples.

I have a problem with my adminastrator rights on my computer.
Thing is I am the admin but dont have any admin rights.

It started less then a month ago, while i where installing some updates
and installed avast virus protection. Everything seemed okey till I one
day noticed my rights are gone.

So first of all i contacted Avast and asked at their forum, but all the
ppl there said to me:

"avast can't change the user status in Windows... neither UAC state in
Vista"... and so on, so it must have been one of the updates since its
not avast.

So I contacted Windows but they refered to the sellers, and so I
contacted the sellers but they doesn't respond (2weeks ago). So i am now
asking some friendly ppl here if they know what i can do with my
problem.

So for an example when I try to change, lets say, my account settings
on Vista (I only have 1 account... I know i know its stupid but this is
the case) a black popup screen arrives for less then a second. I managed
to look what it is called and got the name:

"C:\Windows\System32\consent.exe"

this is an MSDOS file but i dont know what to do with it and why it
pops up.

So if anyone could be kind and explain to me whats the problem is and
what i can do to get rid of it, I would be very greatful.

/Michoo

Executing an image that requests administrative rights causes the
Application Information Service (also known as AIS, contained in
%SystemRoot%\System32\Appinfo.dll), which runs inside a Service Host process
(%SystemRoot%\System32\Svchost .exe), to launch Consent.exe
(%SystemRoot%\System32\Consent.exe).

From the information that you supplied, it seems that not only have you lost
Administrative powers but some System32 files may have been corrupted.

Your quickest remedy may be to reinstall Vista and rebuild a stable
environment.

You must've forgotten to give attribution here, so I'll help ya.
