I am running Vista Ultimate and have just bought a LifeCam VX-6000. When I
install it from the supplied disk it installs the software but not the
drivers, so when I plug the webcam into the USB port Vista recognises that
I've plugged it in but says it cannot find a driver. It advised me to go to
the Microsft website and download another installation program. I did this
and downloaded "LifeCam1_3VX.exe", as advised. I unplugged the webcam and
uninstalled the previous installation and ran the program, with exactly the
same result. So I searched the web for alternative answers and was directed
to the Microsoft web site again but this time it recommended "LC14.exe",
which I downloaded. I unplugged the webcam and uninstalled the previous
version and installed "LC14.exe" - with exactly the same result. I've also
tried "Add Hardware" and "Update Drivers" via the Device Manager, nothing I
do will install the hardware. I have also tried running the programs as
Administrator but to no avail.
Microsoft Customer Services were'nt interested and referred me to the user
groups.
So, how do I get this webcam to work with my computer?
