1) go to
www.myip.com and write down the IP--that is your current public IP
address.
2) open Internet Explorer. Go to the private IP address of your base
station. Mine, for example, is 192.168.2.1
so: http:\\192.168.2.1 <enter>
login
go to security, port forwarding.
Choose persistent port forwarding.
choose set up persistent port forwarding
choose a blank line, check enable, call it pptp vpn
public and private ports 3389 3389
TCP
and the private IP address of your XP workstation.
So--you've got the Ip address, and you've set up forwarding from the
base-station to your PC.
Is the Internet Connection firewall active on your PC--if so, you need to
make a similar entry in the settings for the firewall on your PC.
That should do it--give it a try and let us know what happens.
